I have built up over 30 years of business experience in corporate, entrepreneurial and consultancy roles within the food and drink sectors in Ireland and abroad.
In recent years I have begun to focus on sustainability issues with clients, in particular around:

Sustainable Goals and Development: I have a deep understanding of SDGs, including the integration of environmental, social, and economic factors to create long-term solutions for companies.

Sustainable Business Practices: I have extensive knowledge of ESG governance as a facilitator of sustainable business growth, including corporate social responsibility, eco-design, and green marketing strategies including Eco-labels to promote sustainable practices.

Sustainability Planning and Reporting: I have expertise in conducting sustainability assessments, measuring environmental performance, and preparing sustainability reports to communicate progress and impacts.

Biodiversity Practices: I have a strong interest in biodiversity practices and planning, primarily through client company Origin Green membership, I am familiar with and have applied biodiversity mapping and have supported several clients in creating biodiversity plans and setting targets and KPIs.

Circular Economy: I am very familiar with the concepts of circular economies and the importance of resource efficiency, waste reduction, recycling, and upcycling to minimize environmental impact.

Climate Change Mitigation and Adaptation: I understand the causes and impacts of climate change and am familiar with strategies to mitigate GHG emissions and adapt to the changing climate as it impacts Irish businesses.

Renewable Energy: I have a clear understanding of renewable energy sources, such as solar, wind, hydro, and geothermal, and their role in reducing carbon emissions and transitioning to a low-carbon economy.

Stakeholder Engagement: I have developed skills in engaging and collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies and businesses, to drive sustainable initiatives.

Innovation and Problem-Solving: I think critically, identify environmental challenges, and develop innovative solutions that balance ecological, social, and economic considerations using Design Thinking tools.
